The Jaw is medically known as the
Temporo-Mandibular Joint, (TMJ).
Physiotherapy can help reduce these symptoms which can be caused by a problem with your jaw:
- Pain in the cheek, face, ear, temples or teeth
- TMJ Clicking, Locking or difficulty opening the mouth
- Headache or Migraine
- Noises in the ear / tinnitus
- Feeling of a blocked ear
- Clenching or grinding your teeth (bruxism)

New onset or longstanding neck pain can be related to trauma, injury, posture, muscle strain or joint changes as we age.
Headaches & Migraines can be caused by dysfunctions in the neck, the jaw or muscle tension.
Physiotherapy treatments can include manual therapy, myo-fascial release, massage, postural re-education, exercises, cranio-sacral therapy.

Facial Palsy is a paralysis or weakness of the facial muscles, usually on one side of the face. There are many causes of facial palsy.
Physiotherapy includes education, pain management, techniques on how to look after your face, mouth and eye, massage, stretching, retraining facial muscles and expressions.

If you have new onset facial weakness seek medical help urgently to establish the cause or type of palsy. Access your local emergency department. Once your diagnosis has been confirmed by a doctor you can call for further information on physiotherapy and to book an appointment.

A referral is not needed to book a physiotherapy appointment.
Referrals are frequently received, & welcomed, from a doctor, dentist, specialist or another health care professional & a referral form is available but not essential.
